1) Regretfully, the indie game space didn't happen. Eric had the space and even had it all built out, but then he decided not to go through with the opening... he can provide more details here if he wants Smile

2) On-line Coffee's new location is really good for this sort of thing. It's got task chairs and fast internet and everything...

3) Brian, we WOULD be local if you'd stop with this whole Atlanta Georgia crap and move to Seattle where you belong Smile

Well it probably only looks new because people keep posting anniversary posts in it Smile

I'm not a game developer (even though that's why I started programming as a kid), but I'd love to join this kind of collective. My "day job" is four days a week, and on Wednesdays I work on my own open source project. Working at home is nice, but I'd prefer to be in a work-like space. Let me rent a desk with a good chair and a big monitor for my laptop, surround me with other coders for inspiration and social goodness, keep a pot of coffee brewing, and I'm there.

I actually went to a friend's sculpture studio yesterday, and it was a shared studio with a few other sculptors. It just seemed perfect... it made me want something like that for game development. Sad

Casey,
Let me know how I can contribute to the Seattle programming scene. I would love to help out on open source programming projects as well. Doing some demos would also be fun.

I don't know that there's much of a "scene" in that sense Smile Everyone pretty much works at a game company. We try to keep track here of people who post public domain code, and obviously you are welcome to post contributions in the forums.
